MICHAEL ROBERTS Michael is a versatile and eclectic guitarist based in the New York area. His performances have taken him throughout the Northeast and Canada. Equally comfortable on the classical and electric guitar, his playing experience ranges from standard classical guitar repertoire to jazz, rock, blues and world music. He has performed extensively as a soloist, and in a variety of chamber group settings, jazz ensembles and big band groups. In addition to maintaining his career in performance and teaching, Michael has established himself as a talented composer for the guitar and other instruments. He has written several pieces for solo guitar, duos, trios and larger ensembles. The Artesian Guitar Quartet premiered a few of his original works in 2018 at the Long Island Guitar Festival and at the Songe d'été en musique Festival in Quebec.

                  Michael studied classical guitar at Long Island University C.W. Post where he graduated with a BA in Music Education. His knowledge and proficiency in a wide range of styles of music make him a sought after performer both in recording studios and concert halls.
